Dancehall Legend Sizzla To Release Highly Anticipated
Album,
“The Overstanding” on November 21st and
Begin Tour of the U.S.
Sizzla Kalonji’s most highly anticipated album, “The
Overstanding” is scheduled to be released on November 21st. The album will be marketed and distributed by
DDMG/Kalonji Records. The following day
after the release of the album, Sizzla will embark on a U.S. tour to
promote the album.
Emerging in the latter half of the 90’s, Sizzla quickly
became one of the leaders in the modern dancehall movement. The success of Praise Ye Jah in 1997, secured
a strong following which placed him at the top with Reggae greats like Buju
Banton and Capleton. He released Black
Woman, & Child that same year, and the self-titled single become a reggae
anthem, lasting almost one decade. It
was within this era that he helped lead dancehall back to the musical and
spiritual influences of roots reggae, favoring organic productions with heavy
Rastafarian teachings and beliefs.
Sizzla has released over 40 albums which include a string of
very successful albums, crossing different genres of Reggae. In 1999, Be I Strong was released and Bobo
Shanti in 2001, which was spiritually driven and had strong hip hop influence,
and in 2002 Da Real Thing was definitely the Reggae album of the year, showing a
softer, mellow, and romantic material.
The Overstanding is as prolific, infectious, and melodic, if
not more, than the previous albums. The
production is a collaboration of genius within the Reggae and Hip Hop industry
that have delivered music of great quality and beautiful international
sounds. The topics of the album range
from issues of love, education, overcoming poverty, teaching values, and life
in general. Sizzla is one of the world’s
most respected figures in dancehall reggae and continues to bless the world
with musical masterpieces, album after album.

The Hoax about Sizzla Kalonji circulating the internet is false!!!
The hoax about Sizzla Kalonji circulating the internet is false!!! Concerned friends and fans of one of the most renowned Reggae stars have been in an urgent frenzy in response to an alleged news story on the internet. The fake internet news story website has been identified and will be addressed.
In the meantime, Sizzla Kalonji has been performing all over the world for fans and communities spreading the importance of good education for the youth. He recently held a back to school treat in his community, August Town for hundreds of youth. The treat was held to assist the youth with school supplies in preparation for the new school term.
He prepared meals for all the youth in attendance and enjoyed the day with them and their parents.
Sizzla Kalonji has also been speaking to the youth at different events, showing them the importance of receiving a good education but also placing accountability on the government’s involvement in this process in a supportive way. Heroe’s weekend at UWI, Kalonji took the time to perform for the college students and spread some of the same messages.
Kalonji Records implores the fans of Sizzla Kalonji to continue to be supportive of our endeavors and to look out for the release of his upcoming album real soon. Greetings in the name of HIM. I just wanted to encourage you beautiful people to keep supporting the music and what it stands for. Its been a while since the I blessed the Space so I want to thank those of you who have visited and left your thoughts and kind words.
